THE WESTIN SOUTHFIELD<\/h2>\n

This year\u2019s hotel is the\u00a0Westin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in Southfield, MI! Our relationship with the Westin will span 6 years now – we’re proud to bring our community to a great hotel.\u00a0 We do sell out the hotel at some point each year – while there are nearby hotel alternatives, if you’d like a room, we encourage you to reserve it early. You will not be charged at the point of registration, but upon arrival. It is possible to cancel your reservation.<\/p>\n

We set a new record this year for the percent of the hotel room block that was reserved by February, so act now! (If you have any questions, please email hotel@penguicon.org<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Reserving a Hospitality Suite<\/h3>\n

Please Note!<\/strong> You will not be able to reserve a suite directly.<\/em> If you are interested in a\u00a0suite<\/strong>\u00a0for the weekend:<\/p>\n

  1. Reserve a non-suite room with a King bed.<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Fill out the\u00a0hotel room special requests form<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for the hotel liaison and select \u201cJr. Suite\u201d. \u00a0The liaison will then make sure your reservation changes from a non-suite room with a King bed, to a Suite.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Room Requests<\/h3>\n

    If you would like to make a\u00a0request<\/strong>\u00a0for your room, please:<\/p>\n

    1. Book your room<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and get your confirmation number<\/li>\n
    2. Fill out the\u00a0hotel room special requests form<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The liaison will then make sure your reservation is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      If you make a request through the hotel, there is no guarantee that it will be honored.\u00a0You must\u00a0send requests<\/a>\u00a0to the Hotel Liaison.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      Host a Room Party<\/h3>\n

      If you are interested in hosting an amazing room party this year at Penguicon, you might wish to check the following steps off of your list:<\/p>\n

      1. Reserve a room<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and get\u00a0your confirmation number<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. Fill out the\u00a0special requests form<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for the hotel liaison to let them\u00a0know you are throwing a party and need to be on the right floor! Note that bed removal and appliances through the hotel have additional fees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Hotel Amenities<\/h3>\n

        Each of the guest rooms has a dual-line telephone with voice mail and data port, and a 32\u2033 LCD TV.<\/p>\n

        The Westin is 100% non-smoking. They have a workout room, a pool, whirlpool, and have dog beds available. We would recommend only service animals be brought to the convention.<\/p>\n

        \"\"The Westin offers 15 PURE\u00ae Allergy Friendly Rooms designed specifically for guests with allergies or asthma. Surfaces are specially treated and air is continually circulated and purified, \u201cdrastically reducing irritants that could keep you from resting comfortably.\u201d<\/p>\n

        The hotel has a limited number of refrigerators\u00a0(priority to those with medical needs)<\/em>, microwaves, and roll-away beds available. If you are interested in any of these items, please note that the refrigerators and microwaves are\u00a0$10 each<\/strong>\u00a0per night, and the roll-away bed is\u00a0$30<\/strong>\u00a0per night. Roll-away beds will only be placed by the hotel in\u00a0King\u00a0rooms.<\/p>\n

        The hotel\u2019s dining options are the Level 1 Lounge and Tango\u2019s Restaurant.<\/p>\n

        Other meal options near the Westin include the\u00a0Original Pancake House,\u00a0CK Mediterranean Grille, Subway, Qdoba, China Gourmet, Chipotle,\u00a0Kerby\u2019s Koney Island, Benito\u2019s, and T.G.I. Friday\u2019s.<\/p>\n
